3.50 all-program GPA, 59% all-sport winning percentage highlight fall season

Fall sports academic and competitive performance measures were stellar in 2018!

ACADEMICS

The average program GPA for all fall sports, inclusive of all student-athletes in grades 10-12 was a whopping 3.50!   (9th grade student-athletes were not included since they do not yet have an established cumulative GPA)   This 3.50 is especially impressive when considering that the average school-wide GPA for all students is 3.01.

Seven different individual students, representing three different sports, were named academic all-state.

Six of eight fall sports received "silver" or "gold" team academic recognition from the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association.

COMPETITIVE PERFORMANCE

The combined head-to-head season record for all fall varsity teams was 28-16 in the MEC (64% win percentage) and 56-39 overall (59% win percentage).   This marks an 11-win and 30% increase compared to last year in the MEC, and a 16-win and 18% increase overall compared to last year.

Girls swim/dive finished as undefeated, MEC champions with a 7-0 record.  Football finished 7-1 and runner-up in the Suburban Maroon, 8-2 overall, and was the 5th ranked team in the final Class 5AAAAA poll.   Six of the eight fall sports finished in the top half of the MEC (4th or higher).   Volleyball improved their record by 10 wins compared to last year.   Boys soccer finished with 10 wins overall, and the 5th best HHS boys soccer record/winning percentage in the last 30 years.

Jamie Swanson was named Section Coach of the Year in Boys Soccer.  Corbin Leflay was selected to participate in the Minnesota Football Coaches Association All-Star Game.
